Nicolo Di Bartolo - The Author

Author Bio:

Nicolo DiBartolo, born in 1937 in the picturesque yet tumultuous town of Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, embarked on a life journey that encapsulates the very spirit of resilience and aspiration. His early years were marked by the shadows of World War II, a time when his homeland was embroiled in conflict, setting the stage for his eventual quest for a new life across the Atlantic.

At the tender age of twelve in 1949, Nicolo migrated to America, a land of promise and opportunity. His transition from the old world to the new was not merely a physical journey but a profound transformation, one that would shape the course of his life in profound ways.

Upon reaching America, Nicolo's dedication to his new country led him to serve in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that further cemented his American identity. After his service, he leveraged educational opportunities provided by the G.I. Bill to pursue higher education, a testament to his commitment to bettering himself and his future.

Nicolo's career began in accounting, where his meticulous nature and sharp mind propelled him through the ranks. Over the years, he worked with various companies, eventually achieving position of Chief Financial Officer with his long time employer until retirement. His professional life was paralleled by personal growth; Nicolo and Caroline raised a family of five children, each step in his career matched by steps in his personal life, creating a legacy of love and success.

From Sicily to America, the book "Born American - In Sicily" is Nicolo DiBartolo's heartfelt memoir where he recounts his life's journey from the olive groves of Sicily to the bustling streets of New York. Through his narrative, readers experience the trials and triumphs of an immigrant's life, the essence of the American Dream viewed through the lense of someone who has lived it. Nicolo's story is not just his own; it's a reflection on endurance, the strength of family, and the quiet heroism found in the everyday pursuit of a better life. His memoir stands as both a personal testament and a beacon for those who seek to understand the immigrant experience in America.

There is no "ghost-writer" present here - just the story of Nicolo DiBartolo in his own voice, in his own words.
